Anthill Films is proud to announce that Anytime, its latest action sports documentary co-produced with Red Bull Media House, has been awarded the Sports Emmy for Outstanding Camera Work by the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS).
The award recognizes the film’s bold visual storytelling and technical excellence in capturing the world of freeride mountain biking. Shot in remote alpine peaks, dense forests, and urban environments across three continents, Anytime pushed the limits of what’s possible behind the lens. The production team employed a variety of camera techniques, including: custom-built e-moto rigs, cable cams, FPV drones and slow-motion aerial cinematography to deliver a truly immersive viewing experience.
“This award is a massive honour. It reflects the incredible collaboration between our crew, the athletes, and our partners — all of whom believed in the vision for this film and trusted us to make it happen. We’re proud to see action sports storytelling recognized with such a prestigious award.”
This award truly reflects a massive team effort, starting with our co-production partners at Red Bull and the film’s sponsors - Shimano, Maxxis, Lenzerheide and Evoc - who made Anytime possible. Anthill co-founders Darcy Wittenburg, Colin Jones and Darren McCullough were the directors of photography for Anytime. Darcy and Colin were in New York to accept the award on behalf of the entire camera team, which includes:
Matt Butterworth & Jonathan Osborne - Cinematographers
Ansel Luchau & Brian Wulf - Aerial Cinematography
Anna Dziczkaniece & Kelsey Toevs - Camerapersons
Anytime celebrates the progression of mountain biking through the eyes of the athletes, builders, and filmmakers who shape the sport. Featuring performances by Red Bull athletes like Brage Vestavik, Thomas Genon, and Hannah Bergemann, the film includes the longest and steepest big mountain freeriding ever captured — lines that were so vast they had to be filmed with a Shotover camera gimbal that was mounted to a helicopter.
The win marks Anthill Films’ first Sports Emmy and cements its place as one of the leading production companies in the action sports world.
