When Anthill Films and Red Bull Media House set out to create the Emmy Award-winning mountain bike film ANYTIME, Jackson Goldstone was a dream addition to the rider lineup. Unfortunately, Jackson’s crash at Hardline Tasmania in 2024—and the knee surgery that followed—meant the segment he had planned couldn’t be shot in time for the film’s initial release. And while the film was technically “finished,” it never felt complete without Jackson.
Fast forward a year, and thanks to Shimano and the Trail Born Fund, the stars aligned to finally capture the immersive "Rainforest" segment that Anthill and Jackson had originally envisioned before his injury. For the first time ever, Red Bull TV released an updated version of a film—so everyone can now watch ANYTIME as it was meant to be seen.
The result is the ANYTIME “Gold Edition”—like a director’s cut… but with way more shredding. WATCH THE UPDATE FILM NOW ON RED BULL TV.
“This segment is a perfect example of my dream everyday ride. That’s what I would do every day kind of thing. Prevost is one of my favorite places to ride on the planet, and then to have a fresh trail and film a segment...that was the dream.”
Shot on the legendary trails of Mt. Prevost on Vancouver Island, the Gold Edition isn’t just a showcase of Jackson’s incredible talent—it’s a tribute to Canadian downhill legend Stevie Smith, whose legacy still echoes through those forests. Growing up, Jackson looked up to Stevie. Now, he’s chasing the same dream: to become the next Canadian to win the overall DH World Cup title—just like Stevie did back in 2013.
“Stevie was a big mentor for me. I wasn’t super into racing when he was really performing well, I was quite a bit younger still. But now, the impact that he made on Canadian racing is so big and to follow in those footsteps is an honor.”
Jackson didn’t just want to ride Stevie’s trails—he wanted to help carry his legacy forward. In collaboration with Anthill Films and Shimano’s Trail Born Fund, Jackson helped revive Putting on the Ritz, an old, decommissioned trail on Mt. Prevost. Working with the Cowichan Trail Stewardship Society, the trail was fully rebuilt, creating a new line for the next generation of Canadian mountain bikers to ride, train, and dream on. Backed by Shimano’s $10 million pledge to support trail building globally over the next ten years, the project reflects something bigger than a single video segment. It’s about legacy, community, and inspiring the future of mountain biking.
While filming for The Gold Edition, Jackson was one of the first riders to ever try the all-new XTR Di2 group set. Most notably, the drivetrain is wireless but updates can be seen through the entire group set including brakes and wheels. For Jackson, it's a tie between the updated brakes and drivetrain for his favourite features.
More than a comeback, the Gold Edition is a statement—from Jackson, from Anthill, and from Shimano—about honoring the past, pushing the sport forward, and riding into the future with purpose.
