Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

  • A: To ensure an exceptional experience for your audience, all approved screening events must prioritize high-quality visuals and audio. This means using a professional-grade projector (not a consumer home theater model) on a large, central screen with a minimum resolution of HD (1080p). Additionally, your venue should have a robust and clear sound system. If you're unsure about a potential venue's A/V specifications, feel free to share them with us, and we'll be happy to provide guidance.

  • A: No. The license fees collected are solely used to help cover the significant expenses associated with producing our films, allowing us to continue creating the stories you love.

  • A: Anthill Films has a dedicated person to help guide you through the process, and can help navigate any problems.

  • A: Ticket pricing is a strategic decision that depends on various factors, including the type of event you're hosting, what's included (e.g., refreshments, raffle entry), and your specific costs. We highly recommend creating a detailed budget before setting your prices. Generally, ticket prices for film screenings range from $15 to $20.

  • A: There's no "normal" cost, as venue fees can vary wildly. Factors like location, seating capacity, prestige, timing, and availability all play a significant role. Some venues might not charge a flat fee at all, opting instead for a percentage of ticket sales, while others in high-demand areas could charge $10,000 or more. Research local venues thoroughly to find the best fit for your budget and event size.

  • A: You know your local riding scene best, but here are some proven strategies:

    • Collaborate Locally: Partner with local trail associations, mountain bike clubs, and bike shops to leverage their networks and spread the word through their channels.

    • Physical Promotion: Print eye-catching posters and strategically place them in high-traffic areas at least a week before your event.

    • Digital Buzz: Create a compelling Facebook event page and encourage everyone to share the invite with their friends.

    • Media Outreach: Contact local media outlets (newspapers, online news, community calendars) to see if they'd be interested in covering the film or including your event in their entertainment listings.

    • Strategic Partnerships: Look for local, non-competitive partners (ensure they don't conflict with our film partners) who can help promote your event and even contribute to a fun atmosphere.

    • Event Integration: Tie your screening into existing mountain bike events or activities happening in your area.

    • Pre-Event Ride: Consider organizing a group ride before the screening to build excitement and make it an even more memorable experience!

  • A: Yes, provided your chosen venue permits this. If you are collecting audience data, you must include an opt-out option that allows individuals to choose whether to be included on Anthill's and our partners' email newsletters. We will provide the specific opt-out language for you to use

  • A: Yes, this is generally permitted, provided it aligns with your venue's policies and does not compete with any of the film's official partners.

  • A: Brands that directly conflict with our official film partners cannot be explicitly associated with the film itself. However, you are absolutely encouraged to involve local businesses and brands indirectly in your event! For example, you could partner with a local brewery to set up a beer garden, with proceeds benefiting your non-profit. Or, you could solicit product donations for a raffle. If you have any doubts about a potential sponsorship, please don't hesitate to ask us. Our primary goal is to help you host a successful event, while also upholding our commitments to the sponsors who made the film possible!
